Ocean County Inmate Locator

The Ocean County Department of Corrections actively maintains an online database of inmates currently detained and incarcerated in the county. Access to the database is provided through the  Ocean County inmate locator tool. Anyone can search for Ocean County inmates on the inmate locator by providing a unique identifier for the inmate of interest, either the inmate's full name or booking number. Active Warrant Search in Ocean County

A warrant is a judge's order for law enforcement to arrest someone and bring them to court. If law enforcement files a written complaint and a sworn affidavit under oath, Ocean County warrants are issued by the judge if the supporting documents show sufficient evidence that proves that the accused is guilty. One option is to submit a public records request online on the Ocean County Sheriff's Office website. On the form, requesters can specify an arrest record they need by inputting the arrest record number, the name of the arrestee, and the name of the arresting agency. If the request is granted, the arrest record can be sent to the requester's email address at no cost. How to Get an Arrest Record Expunged in Ocean County

Ocean County arrest records can be expunged in accordance with New Jersey Expungement Law N.J.S.A. 2C:52-1. However, expungement is only available to individuals who meet the criteria set by state law. Generally, persons can apply for expungement if they fall under the following categories:

  • First-time offenders and persons whose cases are dismissed: If a case is dismissed or the defendant is found not guilty on all counts, the court in Ocean County can order the immediate erasure of their arrest records.

Law enforcement organizations, both inside and outside Ocean County, will receive the expungement order after a court signs it, and they will be responsible for deleting the purged records from their systems.
